Good Morning, my friends. I hope everyone had a great week last week. To kick of the new week on the positive, this is The Workout of the Week. This is The Testing Out My Winter Gear On A Sunday Morning Ruck Workout. The post this week will talk about surviving winter, which is here to stay in Minnesota for the foreseeable future. It will include my workout schedule for the upcoming week as well.

Winter Is Here

In Minnesota, it snowed pretty much every day this past week. It didn’t add up to massive accumulation, but the snow was falling, all the same, leading to the inevitability that Winter has come and will be here for a while! Winter can be a tough season for folks in the North. As Winter arrives, it brings short daylight hours, cold temps, snow and ice, and for some people, it brings seasonal depression issues.

How Do You Get Through

How do people get through those long cold Winters up there in the North Country?

I think the best way to get through a Winter is to embrace the Winter. Outdoor activities can help curb seasonal depression and other effects of a long Winter. I love going out disc golfing, ice fishing, and hiking on the trails in the Winter, but in order to enjoy outdoor activities though, it requires having the right gear.

Essential Winter Gear

Embrace The Winter

When you live in a place that gets a Winter season, the best thing to do is to embrace it! Winter is as inevitable as the sun rising in the morning. Doing Winter activities is fun and makes the season better. Winter is a great time for hiking, snow disc golfing, and ice fishing. If you have the right gear for it, the cold is not an issue when doing these activities.

The Workout Schedule

Not much different in the workout this week. I do have two “free days” in there for the upcoming Thanksgiving holidays. I will be riding to some spin bike videos, like the one below from GCN, I will be doing a daily Yoga With Adriene video, like the one below, there will be some RBFTBs and heavy bag work. There will also be some shadowboxing intervals and I am going to try to get out and ruck or disc after work on days where the weather is good.
