Hello, my friends! If you didn’t notice, it’s Tuesday and I still have not posted the Workout of the Week post this week. I had a busy and long weekend. Sunday I just couldn’t find my writing “mojo” for a new post. Plus, I am doing my fourth week of working out with the sandbag routine so nothing new to write really.
Instead, I am writing a new The Food post this week! The recipe is another riff on biscuits and gravy, in the Instant Pot; Biscuits in (Beer) Gravy.

On to The Food!
Biscuits in (Beer) Gravy
To make this recipe, I used a carrot, and onion, garlic, spicy Italian sausage, two (2) 12oz New Belgium Voodoo Ranger beers (or beer of choice), some biscuit mix, milk, a little butter, and some spices.

Sautee the veg and sausage in the instant pot for thirty minutes. Deglaze with one of the beers as needed. Add garlic and spices while this sautees.
While the sautee is going, mix up the biscuit mix. I used Bisquick and milk. Use your biscuit recipe of choice. I eyeballed the measurements and then just made sure the dough wasn’t too dry or too runny by slowly stirring in the milk.
For the gravy, I used a country gravy mix and that second whole can of beer. I dump that into the Instant Pot with sausage and veggies then whisk until boiling and cut the heat.
Right when the heat is cut, it’s time to start dropping the biscuit dough in. I drop it right into the gravy.
Then make sure the Instant Pot steam valve is sealed. Pressure cook on low for 7 minutes.
Release the pressure. Plate the food. Eat and enjoy the food! 🙂
