Good morning, my friends. I hope everyone had a great week last week. The post is a day late this week. I spent most of Sunday hanging with some friends and watching the Vikings! #NordicWalleyeShirtIsUndefeated2022. A day late, but here we go!

The post this week is going to be short but good. It will include a motivation tactic that I have used in the past and am bringing back into my life and will have my workout schedule for the upcoming week. To kick off the new week on the positive this is the Workout of the Week. This is The Listen to _____ While Working out Workout.
Dude, So What’s The _____?
The blank for me is positive motivational media. My go-to source for positive motivational media is YouTube. There are countless hours of this type of content. Personally, I listen to people like Tony Robbins, Jim Rohn, Les Brown, Eddie Pinero, Tom Bilyeu, Eric Thomas, and Jocko Willink (to name a few), or I go to a channel like Motiversity, Fearless Motivation, or Mulligan Brothers.
Why Listen to This Type of Stuff?
So, why should anyone listen to this stuff? Isn’t that motivational stuff a bunch of hokey mumbo jumbo???
For me, no it isn’t hokey mumbo jumbo. For me, listening to positive media changed my life. It helped me grow up, lose weight, and gave me a mindset to deal with things, and deal with life. Positive motivational media is a tool. It helps me control my negative self-talk, work harder, stay focused, and push past obstacles.
When I was in my early 20s I was overweight, depressed, lazy, and had no goals. I went to work every day and worked hard while there, but spent the rest of my time just wasting it; watching TV, drinking beer, playing video games, and just kind of drifting from one day to the next. I did not think there was much more to life.
When I decided to go back to college, I started using YouTube for help on subjects I had a tougher time with – College Algebra! I also took a class that taught about visualization, goal setting, having a positive attitude, and how to apply that to succeed in college and life. The class had some motivational type videos from Lou Tice.
In searching for Algebra help I found some motivational speech videos like Motiversity and Fearless Motivation. I started listening to those videos more and more.
Around the same time, I decided I need to start trying to get in shape. I purchased a spin bike and started riding it all the time. I would listen to motivational speeches while riding my spin bike. This was a game-changer. I started believing I could get into shape, get good grades and succeed at College, and do a better job at work and go after promotions.
Listening to those motivational videos was like reprogramming years of negative self-talk. They allowed me to set standards for my life, to know and understand my own self-worth, and to develop a growth mindset and the belief that I can.
Literally changed my life!
So I Am Making Them Part of the Routine Again
Over the last couple of years, I haven’t been listening to motivational videos as much. This week, I started a couple of morning spin bike rides warming up listening to a motivational video, before doing a GCN video.
I worked out harder, sweat more, and felt better after the workouts than I have in a long time! So, I am making motivational videos during workouts a part of the routine again.
The Workout Schedule
This week I am just posting the picture. It’s about the same routine as I have been doing for the last few weeks. Spin bike workouts from Global Cycling Network, RBFTBs, Heavy Bag, a Yoga With Adriene video, and some meditation practice. Except this week, I will be listening to motivational videos while warming up on the spin bike and while warming up for the other work!

Make It A Great Week
Thanks so much for reading. Thanks to the awesome motivational video makers on YouTube, check them out! Try listening to a speech like that while working out. It changed my life, maybe it could help you out too! Until next time, be the hero or heroine in your story!

My all time best score in “the backyard” has been beat! -8 is the new leader!

Parked my River on #9, the second time through. Set up a sweet birdie to get that -8!
