Good Morning my friends! I hope everyone had a great week last week this past week. To kick off the new week on the positive, this is The Workout of the Week from GoodAttitudeFood.com. This is the Solvitur Ambulando Workout!

The post this week will talk about how walking is super-good for people! In addition, The Food is a new kitchen experiment that I am trying – Slow Cooker, Pulled Pork, Tater Tot Hotdish! – I hope it turns out! The Workout will include some walking goals, some shadow boxing intervals, and a great abs workout from DDPY.

Solvitur Ambulando!
“Solvitur Ambulando”
Diogenes of Sinope, Diogenese the Cynic – Wikipedia
Credited with this quote, Diogenes is commonly thought of as the first cynic philosopher. He is a fairly controversial character in the story of philosophers. He was known for disrupting the lectures of Socrates, criticizing the teachings of Plato, and even mocking Alexander The Great – Wiki. You can read about Diogenes on Wikipedia and the links cited in the wiki articles.
Solvitur Ambulando – meaning
The Latin phrase “Solvitur Ambunlando” can be translated as “Walking solves it”.
I think this is like a life motto I never knew about until this morning. Whenever I have a problem I need to think through, it’s walking time!
The Art of Manliness Podcast – Episode 560
I was listening to “The Art of Manliness Podcast” on Spotify. I came across Episode #560, which is where I found this quote. This episode provides some of the great reasons why people should walk.
The Art of Manliness is a great podcast! You can listen on Spotify, on their website, and pretty much anywhere else you can get podcasts.
We Have Lost the Power of Walking
I think a big problem with people today is that no one ever walks anywhere! We have lost the power of walking.
Walking is like a way to slow time down in a busy world. A way to connect with nature, to connect with our thoughts, to tap into our own creativity and a connection to the nature of being a human!
Aaand walking is just really good for our health!
Benefits of Walking
According to an article on the website https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/, walking has many health benefits! Some of the benefits found in this article include:
- Reduced risk for heart disease and stroke
- Reduced risk of diabetes
- Strong bones
- Reduction in overall body fat
- Improved strength and endurance
- Improved lung and heart health
- Increased cognitive function and memory
Convinced Yet?
Well if that has not convinced you, I suggest trying it for yourself! I know that walking helps me. It’s one of the reasons I love disc golf. It’s one of the ways I keep from feeling depressed. Walking is like a tonic for my soul. Try walking for 30 minutes, four days or more, for one week. Then take notice of how you feel. If that doesn’t convince you, I am not sure what will. But, I would bet you would feel better for doing it!

On To The Food!

The Food this week is a total kitchen experiment for me. I am making Slow Cooker Tater Tot Hotdish (casserole), with Pulled pork instead of ground beef. I hope this turns out! Here is how to make it:
- Cook a pork loin in the crockpot for about 4 hours
- Then pull the pork apart
- add 1 can of cream of mushroom soup
- add 1 can of cream of chicken soup
- add about 1 tbsp of minced garlic
- add one diced yellow or white onion
- add a package of frozen corn
- add a package of frozen green beans
- add seasoning – I used about 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1/2 tsp garlic salt, S&P to taste
- add some tots
- stir together
- add a layer of tots on top
- cook for 2.5 – 3 hours
- add 2 cups of shredded cheese
- cook for 30 more minutes on high
- *** I left the cover off for these last thirty minutes because the tots were a little soggy on top – Leaving the top off got rid of the extra moisture and eliminated the sogginess.
Turned out GOOD!
I brought this dish to a potluck with friends. It got devoured, so I think it turned out good!
The Music
The Music this week is a smooth playlist from the Cheeky Jazzhop YouTube Channel – “first coffee of the day”. This one is a great chill mix!
Sooo Smoooth! 🙂
The Workout

Step Goals – 7K-steps, 5 days or more.
7,000 steps or more, at least 5 days this week.
Counting up to 1,000 miles walked! Last week the total miles walked count was at 269.31 miles. I got in 74,174 steps this week. According to the Samsung app on my phone, that totals up to 34.09 miles for the week. This brings the total miles walked count up to 303.40 miles. Getting closer to 1,000 miles walked, one step at a time! #LPSAGs
Little Puny Specifically Aligned Goals = the way to accomplish any big goal!

Shadow Boxing Intervals, with weighted gloves – 40/20s
With Title Boxing 1.5lb weighted gloves, interval timers set to 10 X 40×20. Fast combo punches at an 8 out 10 level of exertion for 40 seconds. Then slower defensive type movements at a 5 out of 10 level of exertion for 20 seconds. Repeat x 10. Freestyle moves! Fast 40, slow 20, repeat. I like to throw in some kicks, high knees, or whatever. It’s freestyle so have fun with it!!
DDPY – Red Hot Core Video
DDPY is always a great workout. This “red hot core” is a great core-strengthening routine! I will be working this one in on three days this week! Check out DDPY for more great workouts like this!

A great way to solve a problem is to get up on those hero’s (heroine’s) legs, walk around, and think it through. The hero’s motto this week for my character is “Solvitur Ambulando” – When I have a problem, I will solve it by walking!
