One of my BHAGs for 2019 is to become a certified fitness trainer. I plan to accomplish this “Big Hairy Audacious Goal” by completing a series of smaller goals that will get me there. These smaller goals are called LPSAGS – Little Puny Specifically Aligned Goals. I have checked another 2019 LPSAG off the list! One step closer to the BHAG!
My LPSAGs for getting certified:
- CPR Certification – DONE
- Sign up for ACE certification classes – DONE (yesterday!)
- Complete classes – not done yet
- Study for exam – not done yet
- Pass certification exam – not done yet
When I decided I wanted to take on this new challenge, I didn’t know how I would do it. I created the big goal. Then sat down and wrote down my LPSAGs to guide me.
This is the only way I know to accomplish big goals. I have been using BHAGs and LPSAGs for about seven years. Before learning about goal setting, I had no direction in my life. I drank all the time. I went to work, came home and sat on the coach. I got fat and lazy! Since using goal setting techniques, I have been able to change my life! I have earned two degrees, got a pretty cool “pro job”, and lost over 90lbs, among many other goals checked of the list!
If you have a goal, go for it! That goal was put in your conciousness because it can exist. Take action. Set your goals, then get your goals! One step at a time.
