Good Evening my friends! It’s Monday night and I am just sitting down to start writing the post this week. It is one of my longest friend’s last week in MN, so I have been haning with the close homies for the last few days and didn’t get much time to write…. so this week, I am repeating the workout from last week. Pics of the Week!
I had a disappointing “food fail” this week. If you follow me on Insta – @goodattitudefooddude – you would know I found a sweet looking Chicken of the Woods mushroom last week. Chicken of the Woods is usually a great wild mushroom from what I have seen and read. It was the first one I ever found and harvested. I was going to add it to my “crack chicken” recipe and make “Crack Chicken (of the Woods)”.
Unfortunately I think that mushroom was in the woods a little too long. Some wierd little wormy paracites had infested it. I stopped cleaning the mushroom after a few cuts revealed that the worms were pretty much all through it. I had read some people just eat it. Not this guy. Not those wormy things.
I decided to shelf the “Crack Chicken (of the Woods)” idea and just made regular Crack Chicken. It was good… but it could have been a totally unquie and delicious meal if I could have used that mushroom. Oh well. THERE WILL BE MORE! I hope to actually start mushroom hunting more this fall. Maybe my “Crack Chicken (of the Woods)” will get another shot!
