The workout this week is the “Let’s Go Get It” workout from GoodAttitudeFood.com. I am calling it that because I woke up with a “let’s go get it” attitude today and after doing this workout I had a pretty great day. And I got after my goals today! So, in that spirit LET’S GO GET IT people!
This week I am doing another HIIT Boxing Video from Nate Bower; NateBowerFitness has some awesome videos. Please check out all of the amazing content they share!
The video this week is really cool. Nate is on the Beach in Oregon. Looks like an amazing place to be. Some good atmostphere for a video. The great part about the workout, as Nate explains, is that you don’t need anything to do it. You can do this at home, when you travel, in park, or in a small room even, along with pretty much anywhere else. You just need yourself and a little bit of grit!
There is some hard work ahead. Fair warning, the powersquats section is no joke! You can do it though. Work at a pace you can maintain for a minute while working hard. The whole video is a one-minute-on, 30-second-off, HIIT format. There are “rounds” with a little longer break too.
Work Hard. Push through the pain. Get the reward; its the kind that waits on the other side of those things that are hard to do. That’s often (if not always) where the best rewards are!
I am doing this video on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning. In addition, I am going to be adding 3 rounds of tabata sprints, on my stationary bike, on Wednesday and Friday. I didn’t have time this morning to get the bike sprints in. I will probably try to either get a light bike spin or play some disc golf every evening as well.
On Tuesday and Thursday I am going at it again! Keeping the “Let’s Go Get It” going, with The Fat-Shredder Workout I posted a few weeks ago. This is another tabata style HIIT, workout. It’s a great full-body workout that will help you burn fat, not just during the workout, but after too. That’s one of the reasons I am such a HIIT training dude. You get to workout for a relatively short period of time, but the benefits of it last for much longer.
Don’t take my word for it though! Read more here with these 7 Benefits of HIIT, from Men’s Health Journal; people who really know what they are talking about!
By the way, their Number 1 – HIIT Training will keep burn calories for hours. BOOM. Reason number 1. You can work out for like 20 minutes, and HIIT training will keep your metabolism banging away.
I was listening to “The Tao of Seneca” this morning. It is an Audio book that I purchased after listening to Tim Ferriss; the audio book is a collection of letters that Seneca wrote. It is interesting to note that there is a Seneca the Elder and a Seneca the Younger. You can read more for yourself in the links, but the two were both stoic philospohers who lived about 2,000 years ago. Today was the first morning I started listening to the letters.
I put the audiobook to play a random chapter, per Ferriss’ suggestion. Suprisingly it started to talked about exercise. In summary of this part of the letter, Seneca wrote that it is not smart to spend all of a person’s time doing inefficient exercises. They should instead perform short and intense exercises that tire the body rapidly and save time. He suggested running, jumping, and “brandishing” weights.
Wow! Even an ancient philosopher knew about HIIT training!
And there you have it folks! The WOW – Workout of the week from GoodAttitudeFood.com. Be happy and healthy my friends! Remember you can be the hero of your own story!
